Weekly Reflection

“Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and do not forget all his benefits—“
(Psalm 103:1-2)

Psalm 103 is a Psalm of thanksgiving for God’s goodness. “Bless” is one of the characteristic terms for expressing gratitude to God. We bless God whenever we call to mind, with gratitude, all that God has done for us.

Dear Friends,
“You Can’t Out-Give God!” That’s what a friend of mine’s Father always told him, from the time he was a little boy, and trying to decide how much of his allowance he should put in the offering plate at church – to the day he breathed his last breath on this earth – “You Can’t Out-give God!”

Weekly Reflection

Dear Friends,

On the day after every Presidential election, Pastors find themselves in a challenging position. Such is the nature of our nation’s current political system, that in the days and weeks immediately following the tallying of votes, about half of our populace feels a mixture of relief, hope, and perhaps even joy – some even are experiencing elation today. The other half of our populace feels a mixture of fear, dread, disappointment, and perhaps even despondency.
