We are marching right into March! I cannot believe how fast this year is moving along. I have a couple of things to remind people about so here we go! I will be sending out some reminders to the youth and children of our church about the following events that are coming up and also including a second reminder that I will encourage them to give to a friend to invite. The two weeks before Easter (April 12) we will be having, for the first time ever, two Easter Workshop sessions. These will help deepen the real biblical understanding of why we have the season of Easter and help the children to bring home a physical symbol of its true meaning. Meg Leonard and Aimee Dalenta have graciously agreed to take the lead on this and I’m truly thankful for them and their talents. On Palm Sunday, we will be having the children walking around waving palms during the service in the sanctuary! This is a tradition that I feel needed to be revived. We will also be having a Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday for all children who’d like to attend. This event will be set up and prepared for by the Pilgrim Fellowship. We will be in need of some candy to help with this event so if you’d like to contribute or donate you can see me, Tracey Sterling, or Dean Johnson.
The Christian Education of our church will be well represented at the Super Saturday conference on March 14th. I believe we have 4 representatives from our church who will be attending and also some youth will be there too! I’m hoping to, not only, get some amazing information that will help us build our program but also make some face to face connections with other Christian Education people in our area. I am positive that this event will be a stepping stone of many ideas that will be coming in the future to our program and will help us look forward to what is to come in the coming school year!
